As we near the end of Term 3, let's remember that learning is not confined to classrooms—it's a lifelong journey that happens all the time in every location. Our children are naturally curious, soaking up knowledge from their surroundings. So the holidays are a golden opportunity for experiential learning.
With the warmer weather slowly emerging, you may like to consider a visit to Melbourne Aquarium, Healesville Sanctuary, or the Moonlit Sanctuary in Pearcedale for a captivating after-dark zoo experience. A day trip to the Dandenong Ranges or an adventure in the city can also spark their curiosity. These experiences not only ignite their imagination but also build essential life skills and create a holiday period filled with wonder, exploration, and cherished memories. Not to mention, exciting stories to share with their friends and teachers when they return to school.
Now, don't forget, that we still have one more week of school left. The last day of school for this term is Thursday, with students dismissed at 2:30 pm. Camp Australia will offer long day care on Friday if they have enough interest, so if this appeals to you, please be sure to book in at the Camp Australia website.
For those needing holiday care, our school offers a Holiday Program through Camp Australia called the Rocketeers. It's a fantastic opportunity for children to enjoy each other's company doing exciting things in the safe and familiar environment of our school.
Wishing you all a fantastic break filled with joy, learning, and unforgettable moments. On behalf of all the staff, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for your unwavering support throughout the term. Together, we've fostered an environment where learning flourishes inside and outside the classroom.
We look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready for an exciting Term 4!
Jason Micallef,
Principal

Permission to Publish
Parents, please be on the lookout for a new Permission to Publish notice which seeks your guidance on what we as a school can and can't do with images or video of your child. Your family's privacy is extremely important to us and we want to be sure we can honour your requests if you would rather not have your child featured in social media, the newsletter or other marketing material. This new letter is an updated form that aligns with Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) policy.
MACSSIS is here!

MACSSIS survey links were sent to parents on Monday 28 August. The survey is now open. If your email is not in your inbox, please check your junk mail. If you cannot find it, please send us an email so that we can provide you with the link.
Your insights, opinions, and suggestions are invaluable in helping us understand what we're doing well and where we can make enhancements. This survey provides a platform for you to share your thoughts on various aspects of our school, from teaching methods and curriculum to extracurricular activities and community engagement.
There is 1 week to go to complete the survey.
Read, grow, inspire. It's Book week!
What an amazing Book Week we have had. A BIG thank you to everyone for getting involved and participating in the visit from one of our favourite authors, Adam Wallace. Not to mention the special story time reading in the library at lunchtime and the amazing dress up as your favourite book character day! Thank you to parents and teachers for getting into the spirit and celebration of Book Week. It has been a week of exciting activities and fun.

Show Your True Colours!
Next Thursday 14th September (last day of Term 3), students are invited to wear their favourite football team colours. Whether it is AFL, NRL, A-League or any other code of football, we want to see who you support.
We are asking students to bring along a gold coin donation to support our fabulous Parents & Friends Association.

'Melbourne Rocks' Times Table Challenge
We are thrilled to announce that our vibrant students recently showcased their mathematical prowess in the highly competitive Melbourne Rocks Times Tables competition. A hearty congratulations to Diyana, Dylan, and Evelyn, who stood out with their exceptional skills, earning the title of Most Valuable Players. Their hard work and dedication not only brought them individual recognition but also filled the St. Kevin's community with immense pride. Well done to all participants; you are all stars!

Rejuvenation of our Prep Sandpit!
We are overjoyed to announce the reopening of our newly rejuvenated Prep Sandpit, a space of joy and creativity for our youngest learners at St. Kevin's. The sandpit has been transformed into a haven of exploration and imaginative play, where children can build, create, and learn while enjoying the fresh outdoors. This wonderful initiative aligns perfectly with our vision of fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment for all. Check out the joyous smiles and imagine hearing the delightful laughter filling the air as our children enjoyed this beautiful addition to our school.

In Loving Memory: Honouring the Legacy of James Buslon
You may have noticed that this week the yellow ribbon that adorned our school gates in remembrance of James Buslon has been taken down. This ribbon will be used to create a cushion. Also, a more permanent memorial is planned to be installed in our schoolyard next term. Thank you to everyone for your support of one another and the Buslon family during this difficult time. We will share more details about our planned memorial for James next term closer to the date.
