Dear St. Kevin’s Community,
What a spectacular event we had at our recent Creativity Showcase! The talent and creativity displayed by our wonderful students truly brought the theme of "Making an Impression" to life. The Visual Arts, Critical and Creative Thinking, and STEM programs each contributed their unique touch, making the event a remarkable success.
The Visual Arts program, under the guidance of our dedicated teachers, Mrs. Cid and Mrs. Galway, unveiled a stunning display of artistic pieces. From intricate paintings to innovative plasticine art, the artistic flair of our students left everyone in awe. Furthermore, the Critical and Creative Thinking program led by Mrs. Bonato showcased students' exceptional analyses of renowned artists and their artwork. Their insights and critiques highlighted not only their understanding but also their ability to express their thoughts creatively.
The STEM projects, a testament to the ingenuity of our students, were also stars of the showcase. Mrs. Kroenert’s guidance has truly nurtured a spirit of innovation among our students. Their creative and ingenious STEM projects displayed their dedication to tackling real-world challenges using science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The innovative ideas and solutions they presented were truly inspiring.
The gallery was filled not just with incredible creations but with wonder and inspiration, reflecting the hard work, dedication, and creative spirit that our students consistently embody. It was heartening to witness the overwhelming support of our school community, as the event was very well attended. The amazement and appreciation expressed by our parents and visitors served as a testament to the incredible work of our students and staff.
A special mention must go to our amazing staff, Mrs. Cid, Mrs. Galway, Mrs. Bonato, and Mrs. Kroenert, whose passion and guidance have been instrumental in nurturing and encouraging our students' creativity and of-course to all the staff who assisted in setting up and running the event on the night. Their commitment and dedication are truly commendable and have helped shape this wonderful event.
We must also extend a heartfelt thank you to our students whose enthusiasm, talent, and hard work made the showcase a resounding success. And, of course, a huge thanks to our families and the broader community for their unwavering support and encouragement. The Creativity Showcase was not just a display of talent but a celebration of the unity, support, and inspiration that define our St. Kevin’s community.
Oh and I certainly can't forget to offer a huge round of applause to everyone who contributed to the success of the sausage sizzle. It was heartwarming to see the joy it brought to all who attended!
Thank you once again to our staff, students, and families for making this event a grand success. Your participation and support are truly valued and appreciated. Let’s continue fostering this culture of creativity and innovation at St. Kevin’s, encouraging our students to reach new heights and make a lasting impression.
With gratitude and admiration,
Jason Micallef,
Principal

Colour Fun Run
Wow! This was an amazing success. Thank you so much to our families for raising a huge amount of money. Our final total was $22,173 with a profit of around $13,000! We are currently in the process of ordering the stage for the hall and looking at having a protective cupboard built around the new mediawall. Prizes have been ordered and will be distributed when they arrive.
Christmas Raffle
Our Christmas raffle offers the chance to win fantastic prizes while supporting our school. There is a wide variety of prizes: Paul Sadler swimming pack, books, vouchers, wine, Gumbuya World tickets, cupcakes freshly baked by Rozanne, hair care packs and more! Prizes are still coming in so it's not too late if you have ideas or wish to help out with providing prizes. Tickets should have come home this week with the eldest child, or can be collected at the office if you need more.
Pancake Parlour School Rewards Competition
We also want to remind you about The Pancake Parlour School Rewards competition. It's a delightful and simple way to contribute to our school. Every time you dine at The Pancake Parlour and mention our school, you earn points! The winning school in the Fountain Gate league will win $1000. We are currently leading and hope to stay at the top.

Class restructure for 2024
Next year, we plan to implement a restructure of classes in Years 3-6 to align with the straight class model in Pre to Year 2. This means we will be moving away from a composite class configuration to straight grade 3, grade 4, grade 5 and grade 6 cohorts. In the following video, Mr Micallef explains the adjustment and why we have made this decision.
School Advisory Committee

The St. Kevin's School Advisory Committee is an essential component of governing and operating our school. It provides a forum for consultation and participation for our parish and school community. Meeting roughly twice per term, the committee discusses important aspects of school operation such as policies and curriculum design and helps the Principal to consider the perspectives of parents, staff, students and the parish when making important decisions about the directions of the school.
At about this time each year, we invite expressions of interest from the school community for new members to consider joining this important team. This year we have openings for two new parent members. There are no qualifications required other than to work in the spirit of collaboration and cooperation and be willing to attend meetings which usually occur on a Wednesday evening at the school.
New parents are welcome! Please contact Mr. Micallef for more information either by calling the school during school hours or by email. principal@skhamptonpark.catholic.edu.au
